Best Massage Gaming Chair Reviews
All of the chairs in this guide are suitable for all types of gameplay, including PC gaming. As you probably already noticed from the chart above, there are different features within different price ranges. The higher you go the more comfortable it gets. Another important note is that most gaming massage chairs offer lumbar massage pillows as the main massager. While these are limited to vibration massage only, they do get the job done and won’t disturb you while you’re engaged in gameplay.
One of the premium features I want to mention before we start the reviews is a retractable footrest. A lot of gamers, especially PC, are finding out that the footrest is quite useful. It’s also nice to have on board when you decide to relax in the chair between gaming sessions.
Now that you’ve checked out the key specs of the top gaming massage chairs, let’s take a closer look at each of the chairs in my Top 5 and see what current owners are saying.
Von Racer Multifunctional Gaming Chair (8280)
Von Racer manufactures a wide range of gaming chairs, and the company certainly knows how to design a quality chair. The main reason I chose Von Racer as my #1 pick is this chair offers the most features for the lowest price. Killabee and Healgen chairs offer just about the same features, yet they cost more than the Von Racer 8280 chair.
With this chair, you get all the most important goodies, including 2D adjustable armrests, 3D spine support, an adjustable lumbar massage, and a retractable footrest. Use the angle adjuster to recline all the way back to 135º when it’s time to chill. There are three additional angles down to 90º, and it’s possible to lock into each position.
The massager itself is USB-powered, which is the ultimate convenience. The seat has a width of 18.1″ and a depth of 18.9″ to fit most people with room to spare. Effortlessly swivel 360º to ensure you never miss a beat during gameplay.
One key consideration is the max weight capacity of 250 lbs. Larger folks will want to consider Healgen or chairs built for big & tall individuals. Lastly, the head and lumbar cushions are removable, and if the low position of the armrests manages to still hit your desk, the armrests can be removed.
- Easy assembly (takes about 30 minutes)
- No chemical odor upon arrival
- High-quality materials and well-built, excellent value for the money
- More than comfortable enough to sit in for long hours while gaming or working
- The recline positions and footrest are quite nice
- No more tired arms after hours of gameplay
- The ergonomic design delivers
- Great for all heights
- The vibration massage is strong enough to get the job done
- The armrests may feel a bit small
- Massage cushion must be plugged in (not rechargeable)
- Some squeaky chair reports
- Reported problems with the massage pillow quitting
Healgen Massage Gaming Chair (GM002)
Of the 5 chairs in this guide, the Healgen chair is the most stout with the highest weight capacity of 350 lbs. As far as functionality, it offers a similar set of features as the Von Racer 8280 chair with several minor differences. People who value the depth of their reclining position will like to see that the GM002 goes further back than the 8280 with a max recline angle of 155º. You may prefer the wings on the GM002 seat compared to the flat design of the 8280.
My favorite feature in this chair is the armrests. The GM002 armrests are truly fully-adjustable with the option to rotate them. This is one of the key features that make the GM002 the best PC gaming chair with massage functionality on the market. People with low desks and those who prefer to get the armrests out of the way without removing them will value this feature the most.
The massager is different than the 8280 chair. Instead of a vibrating cushion, the vibrating motors are inside the back of the chair, which I think is better. Overall, this is a top-notch racing-style gaming chair with a diesel frame that offers an awesome level of comfort for long gaming sessions. One last highlight I want to point out is the mega-long 5-year warranty on parts. That’s the longest warranty offered by all the top chairs available.
- Similar and perhaps better than a more expensive DXRacer chair
- The material is soft and feels oh-so-nice
- Professional customer service and support (the seller stands behind its warranty)
- No more back pain after playing games for hours or days
- The adjustable & super-comfortable armrests make holding a joystick easier
- Approved by big & tall users
- The footrest is more comfortable and useful than you might imagine
- Loved by PC gamers
- The armrests may feel far apart
- You might not like the groove in the footrest
- The seat may feel a bit hard
- Several durability issue reports
BestMassage Office Desk Gaming Chair High-Back
Since I’m a massage-first kind of guy, if I had to choose just one chair in this guide, this would be it. Of all the best massage gaming chairs on the market, this chair delivers the most thorough massage. What makes it different than the others? Well, the keys here are massage rollers – rather than a cushion with vibrating motors – and most importantly, a heating element. If you want a heated massage gaming chair, this is the one to get.
In total, there are 4 internal massage rollers that travel up and down your back for a more thorough massage than the other chairs offer. The rollers actually apply pressure, unlike vibrating motors. On top of that, the optional heat function makes the massage that much more soothing.
Outside of the massage functions, the 4D armrests give you full control over positioning, and they’re even better than the Healgen chair. A couple of final highlights are the max 135º recline angle that matches the Von Racer chair, a padded headrest, height adjustability, and an included remote for the massage settings. One drawback to consider is the lack of warranty info considering this is the most expensive chair in my Top 5. The good news is the seller, BestMassage, does have good reviews and sells tons of chairs.
- The massager feels fantastic, especially compared to inferior vibrating massagers
- All the parts function properly
- The chair itself is super comfortable
- 4D armrests are awesome for PC gamers and really all gamers
- Made with surprisingly high-quality materials for the price
- Better than $250 chairs built specifically for gaming
- Very comfortable for hours of gameplay
- Less lumbar support
- The heat may not get as high as you’d like
- A complaint about the massage rollers sticking out too far
BestOffice Gaming Chair
This massage gaming chair by BestOffice is the cheapest model in this guide and the top-rated in its price range. Compared to the other 4 chairs, it costs considerably less at the time of this writing. However, it costs less because it’s missing two key features: no retractable footrest and no reclining. If those two features are unimportant to you, this chair is a steal considering it offers the same massage as more expensive gaming chairs feature.
Similar to Von Racer, this chair features a vibrating lumbar massage cushion that must be plugged in to use. One feature that I like is the adjustable headrest to ensure that everyone’s head makes proper contact. Compared to the BestMassage chair above, you may like the ergonomic shape of the BestOffice chair more. The final feature I want to highlight before we take a look at the reviews is the adjustable armrests. I like how the armrests can be moved 90º and completely out of the way without having to remove them.
- You might be pleasantly surprised by the power of the vibrating massage
- Very comfortable and sturdy
- The chair itself is super comfortable
- The tension control knob beneath the chair for the rocking feature is a nice touch to find your perfect resistance level
- Comparable to gaming chairs that cost $200+
- The wheels roll smoothly between carpet and wood floors
- The directions aren’t the best
- Reported odor upon arrival
- The massage might be louder than you’d like
- The headrest is on the thick side
Killabee Massage Gaming Chair High-Back (9015)
The final chair is the Killabee 9015 massage gaming chair. I’m a huge fan of this chair, though, it’s possible to get basically the same features for a lower cost with the Von Racer 8280. The key here is the 9015 recline. Compared to the Von Racer 135º max recline, you get a nearly flat recline angle of up to 175º with the Killabee. This is excellent for those times you want to drift away for a nap after a pint of Ben & Jerry’s or experience the full bliss that the lumbar massager has to offer. For some people, this feature alone might be worth the extra coin.
Personally, I like the 9015 design more than the Von Racer 8280 and the rest of the chairs in this guide. The 9015 is certainly the coolest-looking chair. One key missing feature is no removable headrest pillow with this chair, and the biggest bummer is the armrests aren’t adjustable. The padding on the armrests is nice to see, but if you want the armrests completely out of the way, you’ll have to remove them altogether.
The final highlight I want to mention is the upgraded padding with a thicker layer of cold-cure foam than previous models. You might find that this is the most comfortable massage gaming chair of the five in this guide. Additionally, Killabee is one of the most trustworthy gaming chair brands.
- Easy assembly with clear instructions
- Exceptional customer service
- The most comfortable gaming massage chair on the market
- Most stylish design of the chairs in this guide
- The 175º recline is dope
- High-quality materials and build
- Super sturdy
- Comfortable to sit in for 10+ hours without back pain
- Awesome lower back massage
- It may feel a bit harder than you’d like
- Durability issues reported after a year of owning
- No way to adjust the armrests (they may sit too low for you)
- May feel too wide for smaller folks
Bottom Line
Now you know how to choose the best massage gaming chair and the features to look for in each price range. The most important point to keep in mind is that when these chairs advertise “massage,” it’s really just a vibrating lumbar cushion. Since these chairs are for gaming first, most people aren’t looking for an amazing massage, though, this point is important to know to avoid disappointment.
If you value massage as much as me, you’ll want to stick with the BestMassage chair in this guide or check out other good budget massage chairs for more ideas in a similar price range. A couple of final features to check before you buy are the adjustability of the armrests and max recline angle. While I love the Killabee 9015 chair, the armrests are a bit of a dealbreaker for me. If you’re a PC gamer, it’s a good idea to stick with chairs that offer adjustable armrests to avoid collisions with your desk.
